Belated apology…

Oh dear… It appears I have neglected my blog for a lot longer than I intended!  I underestimated the stress of exams quite a lot so that took out a fair proportion of time and when I was planning to start blogging on holiday the wifi in the hotel failed me…

However, my time management problems aside, I am now ready to start blogging again on a more regular basis as I only have 10 more days left of school *excited squeal*.
Over the next few days I will be posting some photos I took over the last few weeks including some from my Duke of Edinburgh expedition last weekend along with some reviews and general lifestyle posts!
Thanks for reading and hope you enjoy my next few posts…

100 happy days 25

Oops… Bit late tonight seeing as it’s actually Sunday now!
The reason for my late posting is a good one I promise, in fairness it was my Dad’s 50th party!
I didn’t dress up or anything but I wore my new dress (only 2.50 from eBay) and my new Neckless – picture below.
We didn’t do anything too big or have too many people over but instead we had two families over for a chilled night in front of the tele watching Eurovision…
The bearded woman was my favourite, who was yours?
Hope everyone else had a fun filled Saturday night!
Until tomorrow,

100 happy days 19

I am completely shattered today after a colossal 12 hours in school! Normally I’m obviously not in for that long but today I was talking to the new girls who are coming in in September.
They were all so excited which I found really cute and they also had so many questions! I remember when I was doing exactly what they were doing 4 years ago and I can remember exactly how anxious I was feeling…
Anyways just a quick post today but despite it being a long day I did really enjoy talking to all the parents and girls!
Until tomorrow,

The Liebster Award

A couple days ago I was greeted by a lovely comment on my about page from saying how she has nominated me for a Liebster Award. The Liebster Award is an award given from bloggers to other bloggers with an aim to widen their blogosphere!

The rules are:

  • Acknowledge the blogger who nominated you and display the award.
  • Answer 11 questions that the blogger gives you.
  • Give 11 random facts about yourself.
  • Nominate 11 bloggers who you think are deserving of the award.
  • Let the bloggers know that you nominated them.
  • Give them 11 questions to answer.

To start with here are the questions I was given…

Why do you blog?

I love writing but I’ve never been that good at it in an academic sense so I thought starting a blog would be a good way to do something creative. I also adore photography and I wanted a way to publicize my photography and get more people to comment on it besides family and friends!

If you could live in any country in the world, where would it be?

This is a hard one as there are so many places I would love to visit but living in one is very different…I think I’d have to say Italy since I love the Italian language and the culture is so interesting.

What is your biggest and best achievement?

I’d have to say my best achievement so far would be getting my photography and writting published for the first time in the newsletter for the charity I visited whilst I was in Morocco.

If I gave you a million dollars now, what would you use it for?

I’d love to start up my own charity working to increase sporting facilities for deaf and hard of hearing children. Last summer I taught a group of hard of hearing children to sail and ever since I have had a real drive to have more to do with the cause.

What is your favourite book of all time?

Without a doubt The Great Gatsby. I have read it twice and can’t explain how much I am in love with it.

What is your dream job?

Ideally I’d love to be a travel journalist and write a blog professionally.

What do you think is the biggest flaw in people?

Without wanting to tread on any toes I would say the main flaw in people is the lack of understanding that everyone is different. You can’t understand anyone if you assume that they think in exactly the same was as you do or as anyone else.

What is your favourite food?

Sweet and sour chicken Mmmm…

Are more of an introvert or an extrovert?

I’m a mixture between the two… depends who I’m around and the situation!

What languages can you speak?

I speak English as my native language and I am also taking French and Spanish GCSE.

What is one skill or hobby that you want to learn?

I’d love to learn Mandarin when I’m older since it is becoming an increasingly more important language within the world of business!

Random facts about me…

  1. I’m 15 years old
  2. I’m taking Spanish, French, Religion and philosophy, History, Three sciences along with all the compulsory subjects for GCSE
  3. My favourite sport is sailing and I do it almost every week
  4. I live in England as I have done all my life!
  5. I want to do a degree in philosophy when I am older
  6. I have two cats called Marmalade and Marmite
  7. I’ve broken my nose 6 times
  8. I would rather have vinyl to CDs any day!
  9. I’m one of those people who’s makeup collection ALWAYS needs to organised properly…
  10. My camera is the most important thing I own
  11.  And finally I’m an only child

The 11 bloggers I have nominated are…

  1. Misslivvloves
  2. Cherryblossom15
  3. Nailluxxe
  5. Katytatybeauty
  6. Littlebeautybuddha

My questions for you bloggers are…

  1.  Why did you start your blog?
  2. What is the favourite place in the world?
  3. What is your dream job?
  4. Who is your idol?
  5. What is the most important thing you own?
  6. What is your favourite meal?
  7. If you could go anywhere in the world where would it be and who would it be with?
  8. What is colour is your favourite?
  9. If you could have a superpower what would it be and what would you use it for?
  10. Which celebrity do you think you are most like?
  11. And finally what makeup item is your all time best buy?

Thanks again for my nomination it really appreciate it!

It’s your turn now!

100 happy days 7

Not much to say today sadly as I have been busy with the last day of Easter courses at my sailing club! To finish off a great two weeks we had an instructor barbecue which was a perfect opportunity to relax and let off steam from all the hard work we’ve put in. So that’s what has made me happy today… There will be more tomorrow!

Moisturiser comparison

Were surrounded by dermatologists and beauty experts telling us how important it is to use a good moisturiser regularly, will help fight of signs of aging and generally improve the appearance of your skin.

I’m constantly torn between two of my favorite moisturisers and they are: Vaseline Essential Moisture Lotion and Neil’s Yard Frankincense & Mandarin Body Lotion.

The Neil’s Yard lotion has the most amazing aroma of frankincense and mandarin, a combination I’ve not smelt together before but I am glad to say I was pleasantly surprised! The moisturising ability doesn’t match the Vaseline lotion but all the same it works well as 12 hour coverage during the day.

The scent of the Vaseline lotion is pleasant and definitely not as clinical as other lotions but it isn’t particularly fragrant. However if my legs are feeling really dry and worse for ware during the harsh winter months especially, I always use the Vaseline lotion as it provides a deep 48 hour preservation of my skin that lasts.

Overall both products are well worth a try, what I would say is that if you are looking for a more cosmetic moisturiser then I would go for the Neil’s Yard Remedies lotion.

Thanks for reading, more posts are coming soon!
